From the outside looking in Monica's family is picture perfect. A hardworking father who provides the prestigious lifestyle that anybody would be envious of. A loving and devoted mother who gets to stay at home, raise the children, and do hair on the side out of her in house salon her husband had built just for her. Monica and her little brother are afforded the life any child would Die to have. If the walls could talk it would tell the real truth of domestic violence, infidelity, verbal, and child abuse. A price the whole family has to pay. When tragedy hits, she's forced to trade places with her mother. Everything that glitters isn't always gold as Monica spins the web of her story.

Are you looking for a book that engages your emotions? A book that gives a different perspective on a sensitive issue? Author Ashley Cruse does that within her book “He Never Said Sorry”.Torn between the love of her parents and the pain caused by one of them, “He Never Said Sorry” takes you through the journey of a child who ultimately wants to live a happy life. Unforeseen events make that dream almost impossible to achieve. Thankful to caring, loving individuals and family the possibility becomes more of a reality than a dream. The highs and lows throughout this journey are ones to make you realize that everything is not always what they appear to be. Also, this book will make you question what you would do if faced with the same circumstances.
First, I would like to say that I have read other books by author Ashley Cruse, and I would have to say that this one is probably my overall favorite. I like them all. However, in this book I could see growth in her writing. Writing about abuse of any kind is not an easy topic to discuss yet she wrote it in a way that you understood and felt the emotion within the words on the page. For me, that is a sign of someone who has not become complacent with where they are and is continuing to develop and expand their writing ability.
"He Never Said Sorry" is a book that expands on the fact that abuse of any kind is a reality for many. It also shines a light on how it can become learned behavior based on what you see others go through, and you begin to think that is how things are supposed to be. In reality, you always have to watch who is watching and following in your footsteps for their future can depend on it. I will not say too much about the characters in the book for this is something you want to read for yourself. Ashely Cruse thank you for stepping out the box and releasing this!

He Never Said Sorry edition by Ashley Cruse Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews
Be prepared to cry.....a deep look inside what appears to be a rich happy family, and what happens when you hear the words, what happens here stays here, until it's forced out.....
I love Monica's relationship with her mom and brother. She had to grow up fast die to the things that was going on in the home. Great read love the ending!
This book is so realistic there's a lot of people going through this I love this book I told all my friends about n they loved it gud job plz keep them coming
It's always difficult to read stories about domestic abuse, especially when told by a child. I skipped most of the dialogue because it was too much. Not surprising after abusing the mother, the father would turn his abusiveness on the daughter. Couldn't get into it.
This was a tear jerker for me. However, the author did a great job. I enjoyed this book it was like watching a movie. There were some grammatical and spelling issues but the author wrote so well it did not change my opinion. I never cried so much. Good job.....
This was a great read and being that I am an author myself that says a lot. This book brought out all types of emotions out of me and that's not easy to do. The only problem I had was the independence of little Monica, it is possible, but highly unlikely that some one her age would be so independent, but I fell in love with her anyway and was so glad when her dad got arrested and she and her brother got rescued. Yes I have and will continue to recommend this book, I enjoyed it.
I loved the way this book was written as the story was being told from a child's point of view. I felt so sorry for her she was placed in a grown up roll at 9 taking care of her brother and her dad beating her almost had me in tears. Wonderful ending and there are so many who can relate to this. Not going to tell the story so you have to buy the book. I will be looking for more from Ashley Cruse.
